What is Ledger Live®?

Ledger Live® is the official app that works seamlessly with your Ledger Nano S Plus or Ledger Nano X hardware wallet. It acts as your crypto portfolio manager, giving you access to over 5,500 coins and tokens including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and many more.

Step 1: Set Up Your Ledger Hardware Wallet

Before using Ledger Live, you’ll need a Ledger hardware wallet. This device stores your private keys offline, keeping your assets safe from online threats.

Unbox and initialize your Ledger device.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set a PIN code.
Write down your 24-word recovery phrase and store it in a secure location.
Verify your recovery phrase—this is the only backup to access your funds if your device is lost or stolen.

Your Ledger wallet is now ready to connect to Ledger Live.

Step 2: Download and Install Ledger Live®

Visit the Ledger official site at ledger.com to download Ledger Live for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android.

Go to the “Download” section of the site.
Choose the correct version for your device.
Follow installation prompts to complete the setup.
Launch Ledger Live and choose “Get Started.”

Step 3: Connect Your Ledger Device to Ledger Live

Choose “Initialize as New Device” or “Restore from Recovery Phrase” depending on your setup.

Ledger Live will verify your device’s authenticity and complete the pairing process.

Step 4: Add Crypto Accounts

Once connected, you can add crypto accounts based on the coins you want to manage.

Navigate to “Accounts” > “Add Account.”
Select a supported cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP).
The app will install the necessary Ledger app on your device.
Your wallet address will be generated and displayed in Ledger Live.
